Who We Are

E1 started in 2020 with a shared passion for sustainability, premium electric motorsport andmaking history, and in September 2020, the Monaco Yacht Club was the first to bear witness to this journey, announcing the series to the world.

By June 2021, the general public joined the E1 story as the E1 Racebird was officially unveiled, but it was not until 2022 that a turning point began.

From the E1 Racebird’s first test run in Italy to the Iconic moment when all four E1 Racebirds came together for the very first time. History was made and we were right at the heart of it.

Since then, we have travelled all over the globe raising awareness about marine health and sustainability through electrifying competitions. From Jeddah to Doha to Italy and now our next stop, Africa, the bed rock of heritage and deep rooted legacies.

Africa isn’t just a destination for E1, it is a conscious decision to be a part of the vibrant cities, diverse cultures, indigenous talents, and authentic history.

History is set to take place in October at Lagos, Nigeria. Would you be there to witness history with us, or only hear the echoes?

Why We Chose The E1 Racebird

Traditional motorboats already existed but they had a problem. They were not sustainable and they actively destroyed marine life with carbon emissions.

We could not sit back anymore and watch the waters and its beneficiaries suffer. That was when the idea of the E1 RaceBird was born.

The E1 Racebird, a 24 feet, one tonne race beast started with dreams of a sustainable marine ecosystem and today it is the official race boat of the UIM E1 World Championship Presented by PIF.

The intricate features of the E1 RaceBird tell a story of innovation and sustainability. A 100% electric propulsion system and the use of hydrofoils totally redefines watersport, showcasing electric brilliance while safeguarding coastal lines and ending an era of carbon emissions.

But more than a race boat, the E1 RaceBird stands as a monument to elite racing experience.

The E1 RaceBird, owned by high-end individuals, embodies a lifestyle of poise, style and class. Beyond speed, it also represents a future that embraces marine health and boldly defines the next generation of race boats.

The E1 Racebird is set to soar in Africa, carrying history on its wings.

The question is would you be there to witness it?

Why We Care About Sustainability

We discovered a problem in the use of traditional motorboats, one that depletes the foundation of marine life

Traditional motorboats release carbon that we don’t want in water because they kill important foundations of aquatic life.

Humans also feel this effect. In 2023, UNICEF reported that nearly 190 million children living in 10 African countries face water-related risks.

These challenges gave rise to E1 and today we are invested in ;

● Reducing Carbon Footprint: E1 is working with the world’s leading scientists to reduce its carbon footprint while promoting decarbonisation within sports and entertainment

● Blue Impact Programme: We’re creating initiatives committed to restoring and regenerating marine ecosystems.

● Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Projects: Several projects like the Puerto Banús harbour clean-up, Save Posidinia, among others have been aimed at working towards our sustainability goals and principles.

● Clean Energy Investments: E1 is providing financial support to relevant energy projects in various regions leaving real and positive impact on the communities such as the wind power project in India and wind turbine project in Brazil.

● Environmental Impact Reduction: We’ve adopted renewable energy across nearly all our races and actively supported waste reduction and recycling initiatives in order to build a more sustainable environment.

● Community Engagement: Throughout our 2024 races, our teams and staff have visited schools across the UK, Spain and Monaco educating and inspiring the next generation towards a sustainable future.
